I had a few things to do out and about and it was just an Awesome day!

It is still raining quite a bit so every half hour or so there was a terrific downpour and traffic goes into slow mo crazy crowded honking instead of the normal craziness of everyday Pune traffic. Monsoon Season should end here in a few weeks☔️

I was thinking and looking at my list and remembered Tiffany saying we should grab up some Sunflowers at one of the street flower stands. They are big and beautiful blooms here just like in Kansas. So, I’m looking for a spot and I say to Hanumant, our driver-“I’d like to stop and get Mam (that’s what he calls Tiffany) some Sunflowers before we get back home”.

He says “ok, Mom” (that’s what he calls me).

Soon he stops and says “I get Sunflowers” and I said “I don’t see a stand” and he points 3 lanes across to the median and says he’ll get some. They are growing wild in the median of a 6 lane two way road. I said “Nooo, you’ll get run over-then what?…and he jumps out waits for a break in traffic runs across grabs some stems and comes back smiling and hands them in the window! Too sweet! Made my day and Tiffs as well when I came in with the Sunflowers at the end of my outing. We are on the way again and he’s says “free, Mom”. Yep, and I worried he would get run over or in trouble for taking flowers?!

After the flower grabbing I went along with Hanumant to pick up Luke at school and met up with our friends Linsey and daughter Eva for coffee at the school Cafe. It was great to see them. Eva is 6 and quite the little diva-we love her dearly. So today, her mother hands her a packaged brownie for her snack. Eva ripped it open and it went flying away and on the floor!

And it was disaster for the brownie and Eva! The place is very clean but one cannot have said brownie once it’s hit the floor, and she wanted it anyway-she lost against her mother in the end and eventually settled for a chocolate chip cookie-but it didn’t happen easily!

So in the pics we have Hanumant at the left and Eva and her family on the right. Eric works with Eva’s dad, Ali. We travel and hang out with them and others pretty regularly. Such fun, great people. They are from Scotland.

After school, it was pouring buckets of rain. Luke and I were completely soaked getting to the vehicle-the guards there at school were trying to help everyone with big umbrellas but we just ran ahead and jumped in the SUV.

Traffic was worst than earlier, it seems on a rainy day here that around 4-5p it really rains hard and for longer than the 30 minute intervals earlier during the day. We headed to get Eric at the office, the regular route for Hanumant daily after picking up Luke. It is sometimes Eric and Tiffany if she has to go into the office. And even sometimes there will be an extra passenger from work that also lives where we live. By the time we got Eric water was starting to flood in low areas. Eric is in front seat with Hanumant and they are looking at going on through a deep spot. Eric says in Houston we don’t go on through, it’s “Turn around or drown”! And Hanumant drove right on through as we all held out breath! It was fine, he knew what he was doing.

I absolutely love going out and experiencing daily life here. It’s so interesting and different than anything imaginable. My favorites are the animals and the respect the people have for them, and the scooters with a family of 5 on board riding along.
